VISIT TEXAS.GOV/PROPERTYTAXES TO FIND A LINK TO YOUR LOCAL PROPERTY TAX DATABASE ON WHICH YOU CAN EASILY ACCESS INFORMATION REGARDING YOUR PROPERTY TAXES, INCLUDING INFORMATION REGARDING THE AMOUNT OF TAXES THAT EACH ENTITY THAT TAXES YOUR PROPERTY WILL IMPOSE IF THE ENTITY ADOPTS ITS PROPOSED TAX RATE. YOUR LOCAL PROPERTY TAX DATABASE WILL BE UPDATED REGULARLY DURING AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER AS LOCAL ELECTED OFFICIALS PROPOSE AND ADOPT THE PROPERTY TAX RATES THAT WILL DETERMINE HOW MUCH YOU PAY IN PROPERTY TAXES.

The mission of the Carson County Appraisal Disitrct office is to serve the citizens and taxing units with the District's Jurisdiction, to value property and administer exemptions, fairly and equitable in accordance with the Texas Property Tax Code and other appraisal practices and standards, using the staff and resources available to carry out the duties in a professional, friendly, courteous and ethical manner.

Carson County Appraisal District is responsible for the fair market appraisal of properties within each of the following taxing entities

Within this site you will find general information about the District and the ad valorem property tax system in Texas, as well as information regarding specific properties within the district. Carson County Appraisal District is responsible for appraising all real and business personal property within Carson County. The district appraises property according to the Texas Property Tax Code and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practices (USPAP).

Tax rates and ultimately the amount of taxes levied on property are determined by governing bodies of each of the taxing authorities.  Mineral, utility and industrial accounts are appraised for the district by Thomas Y. Pickett in Addison, Texas. Real estate and personal property accounts are appraised locally by the district.
